As a Christmas present, my dad sent me a subscription of Reader's Digest. The magazines were great, they even sent me free books in the mail...or so I thought. I have received two free books in the mail and thinking I would read them one day, put them on the book shelf. Yesterday, we received a bill from Reader's Digest for $27.28. I was so mad!! Not only did they deceive me by giving me a "free" book and charging me for it...they fully expected me to just right a check, like I was their wooden Pinocchio doll. After 20 minutes of searching for their phone number on the internet, I called. Their customer service line requires you to speak the selection. My accent does not fit their machine, so I had to repeat myself over and over for the machine to give me the selection I wanted. Finally, I talked to a customer service representative, she apologized and told me to keep the book as a complementary gift. "Have a nice day!"

haha! That happened to me when I lived in BR. Apparently, some company sent me stockings (aka panty hose), but during that time I had moved apts. and I was in college and didn't think to forward my mail, b/c I never really got mail. So, the next person who had my mail box either kept the stockings or threw them away. So, I get this bill at my new address b/c they some how tracked me down. And I was furious that I owed like $30 bucks for something that I didn't want and never received. So, I called the service line and explained it...the lady was FIESTY. But she took the charge off. Whew. Can you imagine being turned into a collection agency for PANTY HOSE?!!

Bethany! So glad you found me on here. I love that you have a blog so I can read up on your life. I saw your name and I was like, hmmm, Bethany Stover, sounds familiar yet, not. haha. Took me a sec. I hope that you are doing great! Things with me are good, just taking a break this summer living at home and doing nothing. Give me a call if you are ever in Florence and we can catch up.
