Honorary Oklahoman...

So this is a long overdue blog, but my trip to Salt Lake City (SLC) went great! For those of you who don't know, SLC is the mormon capital of the world. The mormon tabernacle is unbelievable, and we got to hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing on Thursday night. The conference (American Alliance for Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance) Was so unbelievable. I went to about 5 different workshops on Wednesday, 5 on Thursday, and then Friday we toured Park City - where the Olympics were held. Prior to this trip I had known two true Oklahomans in my life, Cary McCall and Molly. Cary interned in the campus ministry where I developed my faith and Molly Pickering is a fellow graduate students and accompanying travel buddy to SLC. As of right now we are batting 2 and 0 with Oklahomans being the nicest people (other than Alabama fans). Molly introduced me to her previous teaching buddies from Oklahoma at the conference, and throughout the 4 day event, I never felt alone because I automatically had 3 new friends. Other than making 3 new friends, I was able to really network the professional teaching world. Yes, there is a professional Physical Education world. During my time at Memphis I have read so many research articles and at this conference, I met all the authors of them. It was very...awe-inspiring?? Either way, I really enjoyed meeting a lot of people. The most mindblowing part of it was how many people asked me if I was going to pursue a doctorate...well, we'll have to cover that subject when the time comes. Enjoy the pictures!
